WCS Mongolia Country Director Justine Shanti Alexander and WWF Mongolia Country Director M.Badamlyankhua signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organizations
ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia (September 28, 2026) — The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Mongolia Program and WWF-Mongolia signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration for wildlife and landscape conservation across Mongolia.
The partnership will bring together the two organizations’ scientific expertise, field presence and partnerships to strengthen conservation of Mongolia’s wildlife and ecosystems. Areas of collaboration will include joint research and monitoring, data sharing, conservation planning, and engagement with government, communities and other partners.
A key focus will be snow leopard conservation. WCS and WWF-Mongolia will coordinate closely on Mongolia’s second national snow leopard survey, currently underway, and support new research to better understand snow leopard distribution, including surveys in less favorable and less-studied habitats.
