JOB SUMMARY
This position will support training in the implementation of multi-stage training courses for law enforcement agencies to improve Mongolia’s ability to counter wildlife trafficking (CWT). The Legal training assistant will be responsible for assisting the WCS Environmental Law Enforcement Team in leadership training targeting partner organizations and implementing activities focused on training in the use of problem-orientated policing models to counter wildlife trafficking in Mongolia, develop an understanding of Internal/External data set, and develop problem profiles and action plans. The position holder will support the team in building relationships with key partner organizations engaged in the enforcement of Mongolia’s environmental laws to counter wildlife trafficking. The ability to work in rural and remote settings is a requirement.
ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
Headquartered in New York, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is a US non-profit, tax-exempt, organization established in 1895 that saves wildlife and wild places by understanding critical issues, crafting science-based solutions, and taking conservation actions that benefit nature and humanity. In Mongolia WCS has been working since 2003 with government, communities, NGOs, and industry partners in conducting research, protecting biodiversity, ensuring landscape connectivity, and supporting efforts that lead to the sustainable management of natural resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and organize workshop, trainings or events, it’s all logistics and pre or post training mentoring of training recipients;
- Development of workshop, seminar, and post-training agenda and prepare reports including program reports;
- Assist in regular efficient communication with partner organizations in the preparation of training courses and work closely with project partners;
- Carry out other additional supporting activities with program goals.
